One Piece manga returned after a break this week, and we even got spoilers early for the upcoming chapter, so there has to be something special in these spoilers. During the last chapter, we saw how Shanks single-handedly beat the Kidd Pirates, and The Kidd Pirates had to hand Shanks their Poneglyph to stay alive. In this chapter, things seem to have shifted to the other side of Elbaf, where Blackbeard is on his way to Elbaf Island. Spoilers for One Piece chapter 1080 are out. Chapter 1079 Quick Summary
Chapter 1079, titled “The Red-Haired Yonko Pirate,” continued the fight between Vegapunk Stella and Vegapunk York. Vegapunk York aims to become a Celestial Dragon and kill every other Vegapunk that has been revealed so she can become the only Vegapunk alive. We also saw Blackbeard’s ship on its way towards Elbaf. The main highlight of this chapter was the fight between Shanks and Captain Kidd, which Shanks won, without any competition.
One Piece Chapter 1080 Early Spoilers
One Piece Chapter 1080 is titled “The Legendary Hero” – referring to Garp, the Marine Hero.
SWORD vs Blackbeard Pirates on Beehive Island
On his way to Elbaf, Blackbeard and his crew are first seen to be in a battle with SWORD, the secret organization led by X-Drake. The battle is happening on Beehive Island, currently occupied by Blackbeard Pirates. The whole chapter is reported to take place on this specific Island.
Blackbeard pirates with devil fruit powers are the only ones present in this battle, i.e. Shiryu, Vasco Shot, Pizarro, and Sanjuan Wolf. The devil fruits of the new members were also revealed as Pizarro has the “Island-Island Fruit”, which gives him the power to control the land; Sanjuan Wolf has the “Inflation-Inflation Fruit”, which gives him the power to inflate anything he touches; and Vasco Shot has the “Liquor-Liqour Fruit” whose ability was not revealed.
The SWORD members taking part in this battle are Hibari (who uses a sniper and Vegapunk’s weapons), Prince Gross (who has the Mud-Mud Fruit) and Kujaku (who has the Whip-Whip Fruit). Kujaku is revealed to be the daughter of Tsuru, an old marine who is famous for being Garp’s wife (although there is no canon proof about this yet). The abilities of none of these members were explained in the spoilers.
Coby is being used as Bait by Blackbeard.
Coby’s bounty is revealed in this chapter, which he got on himself because of his popularity. This bounty is not the money the World Government offers; instead, this is offered by some big pirate who wants Coby out of his way. The bounty is 500 million beri, which is pretty high compared to the top bounties in One Piece.
We also see a flashback of when Blackbeard kidnapped Coby on the Amazon Lily. It is revealed that Blackbeard kidnapped Coby to negotiate with the World Government regarding a Pirate Island. Blackbeard wants the World Government to turn this Island into an official country (legalize this Island) in exchange for Coby.
The scene then cuts to Aokiji, who explains how the World Government cannot negotiate for a person who belongs to SWORD (as Coby is a member of SWORD). The name of the Island has not been revealed as of yet!
Garp joins the battle in Style!
Perona is also revealed to be on this Island as she came to rescue his captain, Gekko Moria. She might have thought that Blackbeard must have hidden Moria during the Paramount War (as Moria went missing during the Paramount War), so she tagged along.
At the end of the chapter, Garp’s appearance is revealed as he joins the SWORD members in the battle against the Blackbeard Pirates. Reportedly, he uses his Haki (Conqueror’s Haki or Armament Haki) to destroy some buildings. Garp is seen in a fight after a long time, which is big news for Garp fans!
